Personal Data Protection Clarification Notice (KVKK)

In this Clarification Notice, the principles regarding the processing of your personal data by Demos Endüstri Fuarcılık A.Ş. (the Company), acting as the data controller and located at Yeşilköy Mah. Atatürk Cad. Egs Business Park Blk. No:12/26 Bakırköy, Istanbul, in accordance with the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (the Law) and the relevant legislation, are set out below.

1. Purpose of Processing Personal Data

Your personal data obtained due to your visit to our website may be processed by our Company for the following purposes:

  • If you submit a request via the contact section and/or social media accounts,

  • Carrying out the necessary work by our business units to enable relevant persons to benefit from the services provided by our Company,

  • Conducting relevant business processes, ensuring the provision of information, evaluating requests/suggestions, and enabling the submission of complaints,

  • Planning and executing the necessary activities to customize and promote the services offered by our Company in line with the preferences, usage habits, and needs of relevant persons,

  • Carrying out the necessary work by our business units to perform the commercial activities conducted by the Company and managing related business processes, as well as planning and executing the Company’s business strategies,

  • Planning and executing the Company’s commercial and/or business strategies,

  • If you provide explicit consent, sending commercial electronic messages to you and enabling you to benefit from our e-bulletin services,

  • Ensuring the legal, technical, and commercial/workplace security of the Company and persons who have a business relationship with the Company.

2. Method and Legal Basis for Collecting Personal Data

Your personal data are collected by our Company through technical communication files such as cookies due to your visit to our website, in line with the purposes stated in this Clarification Notice, by fully or partially automated means, as part of a data recording system, in written and electronic environments. Personal data collected other than cookies are collected through the completion of forms on the website by non-automated means.

Your personal data are processed based on the following legal grounds:

  • Pursuant to Article 5/2(a) of the Law, where it is explicitly stipulated by law,

  • Pursuant to Article 5/2(ç) of the Law, where processing is mandatory for the data controller to fulfill its legal obligations,

  • Pursuant to Article 5/2(f) of the Law, where processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of our Company, provided that it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms,

  • Pursuant to the Law No. 5651 on the Regulation of Publications on the Internet and Combating Crimes Committed Through Such Publications, due to the obligation to retain traffic information.

3. Transfer of Processed Personal Data and Purpose of Transfer

Your personal data may be transferred, in line with the purposes of processing, to our business partners (outsourced service providers, hosting service providers), Company affiliates, and legally authorized public institutions and private persons, within the scope of the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in Articles 8 and 9 of the Law.

4. Application to the Data Controller and Your Rights

Pursuant to Article 11 of the Law, you have the right to apply to our Company and request:

a) to learn whether your personal data are processed,
b) to request information if your personal data have been processed,
c) to learn the purpose of processing and whether they are used in accordance with that purpose,
d) to learn the third parties to whom your personal data are transferred domestically,
e) to request correction if your personal data are processed incompletely or inaccurately,
f) to request deletion or destruction of your personal data within the framework of the conditions stipulated in Article 7 of the Law,
g) to request notification of the actions taken pursuant to subparagraphs (e) and (f) to third parties to whom personal data have been transferred,
h) to object to the occurrence of a result against you due to analysis exclusively through automated systems,
i) to request compensation for damages if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing of your personal data.

You may submit your applications regarding these rights by completing the Data Subject Application Form available on our website and sending it by post to Yeşilköy Mah. Atatürk Cad. Egs Business Park Blk. No:12/26 Bakırköy, Istanbul, or by email to info@demosfuar.com.tr.

Our Company will conclude your requests free of charge as soon as possible and at the latest within thirty days, depending on the nature of the request. However, if the transaction requires an additional cost, a fee may be charged. Our Company may accept and process the request or reject it by explaining the reason in writing.

If the application is rejected, the response is found insufficient, or no response is provided within the legal period, you have the right to file a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Board within thirty days following the notification of the response and, in any case, within sixty days from the date of application. However, a complaint cannot be filed without exhausting the application procedure.

The Board conducts the necessary examination upon complaint or ex officio if it becomes aware of an alleged violation. As a result of the examination, if a violation is identified, the Board decides that the unlawful acts be remedied by the data controller and notifies the relevant parties. This decision shall be fulfilled without delay and at the latest within thirty days from notification. In cases where irreparable or difficult-to-repair damages may occur and there is a clear violation of the law, the Board may decide to suspend data processing or the transfer of data abroad.
